Role: ACT Information Hub Volunteer (Oncology)
Location: Addenbrookes Hospital Oncology Dept
Date Frequency: Flexible

About the role
Are you a friendly person who likes talking to people? Are you passionate about the excellent work that the Addenbrooke’s and Rosie’s Hospitals do? Do you want to help them to do more? As an ACT Information Hub Volunteer, you will be the face of ACT. You’ll be based on one of our Hospital Hubs in the Oncology department, talking to people about our charity, and raising awareness of the different ways that they can get involved. Thousands of people come through the doors of Addenbrooke’s every day. We need your help to raise awareness of how people can support cancer services across Addenbrooke’s, by donating, fundraising, or volunteering for our charity. Training for the role will be provided as well as ongoing support. We will cover travel expenses and provide a reference after two months in the team.
Key Responsibilities
You will be friendly, enjoy talking to a wide range of people and passionate about supporting Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals.
Raising visibility of our charity, promoting ACT’s fundraising initiatives, and helping to distribute fundraising literature around your local community.
We are looking for volunteers to give their time on a weekday with an aim of volunteering for a minimum of 6 months.

The impact you make will be incredibly valuable as part of the team here at Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. We all share the same goal in ensuring that we continue to strive towards improving the CUH and Rosie’s Hospitals for our community, whether that is patient experience, specialist equipment, recruiting leading experts in their field and research. Your contribution is vital, and we will be supporting you throughout your journey. All of this comes with the support from the Fundraising Team at ACT, who will help to support and guide you.

Role: Tin Collection Co-ordinator
Location: Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk (convenient to you)
Date Frequency: Every 3 months

About the role
This original and effective volunteer role is a great opportunity to raise the profile of Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) within your community by placing our collection tins within the venues you have approached. You will then be monitoring every 3 months to collect and replace with the new tin to return to the community fundraiser. It is a great way to engage in your community in encouraging to donate and talking about the work we do at ACT.

About the role
An ACT Champion is a diverse, dynamic and engaging volunteer role where you have the chance to be the face of our organization, and you will be sharing the knowledge of how ACT supports the community with improving and developing the Cambridge University Hospital (CUH) and the Rosie Hospital. The role is key to supporting the organization in connecting and establishing relationships along with the support we are fortunate to already have.
Key Responsibilities
- Sharing knowledge about Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust
- Giving talks on behalf of Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust at groups / events
- Representing Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust at events within the community
