You are warmly invited to join us for Candles at Christmas. As the festive season draws near this will be a chance to pause, reflect and remember the life of someone special and the memories we continue to cherish.
We do hope you will be able to join us for one of our Candles at Christmas services taking place at the Addenbrooke’s Hospital Chapel on Thursday 5th December 2024 at 3pm and 6pm. Our services will feature music, comforting readings and lighting of candles in honour of loved ones. They are suitable for people of all faiths and none, and will be followed by festive refreshments. You are also most welcome to bring along family and friends.
The service is free to attend but you will need to reserve your seats by clicking the button above. You can also suggest a piece of music or make a donation.Â
If you cannot attend the services but would still like to have your loved ones name read out, suggest music or make a donation please still RSVP. As Christmas approaches, we really do value your support, which makes a huge difference and helps us continue to provide the best possible care where it’s needed most.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday 5th December and if you would like further information or have any questions, please get in touch with Lydia at Lydia.Farrer@act4addenbrookes.org.uk or on 01223 609581.
Messages from attendees at Candles at Christmas 2023:
“I wish to express my thanks to you and your colleagues for such a beautiful service yesterday. It was quite perfect. It was especially lovely to see the names of the deceased read out and it meant a lot to me that Adrian was referred to as Dr Adrian Stephens. We worked in the same hospital, on the same patients, myself as a clinical scientist undertaking genetic diagnosis and many patients knew that I was married to Adrian and they spoke of him so highly and affectionately.” – Barbara
“Thank you for this evening, it was such a beautiful poignant service. Thank you for playing Joe Cocker’s You Are So Beautiful, it’s one of Val’s favourites, and perfectly sums her up: she lives in my heart and in my mind, and she is a truly beautiful person. All in all, it was a lovely evening.” – John
