About Us

Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is dedicated to supporting innovation in patient care at Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals. Whether it’s treatment for an emergency, acute condition, pregnancy, or long-term illness, we believe that every patient deserves the highest quality of care available. Thanks to the immensely generous support of our community, Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond that which can be delivered by NHS funding alone. Charitable donations fund high-tech equipment, specialist staff, extra comforts, and vital research to find potential cures and help save lives locally, nationally, and worldwide. We need your help to raise awareness of how people can help make our hospitals, Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie, even better.

About the Role

Are you a friendly person who likes talking to people?

Are you passionate about the excellent work that the Addenbrooke’s and Rosie’s Hospitals do?

Do you want to help them to do more?

As an ACT Information Hub Volunteer, you will be the face of ACT. You’ll be based on one of our Hospital Hubs in the Outpatients department, talking to people about our charity, and raising awareness of the different ways that they can get involved. Thousands of people come through the doors of Addenbrooke’s every day. We need your help to raise awareness of how people can support cancer services across Addenbrooke’s, by donating, fundraising, or volunteering for our charity. Training for the role will be provided as well as ongoing support. We will cover travel expenses and provide a reference after two months in the team.

Hubs

  • The Concourse
  • Oncology – requires a DBS check

Key Responsibilities

  • Volunteers stationed at the Oncology Hub will need to pass a DBS check

The Impact You Make

The impact you make will be incredibly valuable as part of the team here at Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. We all share the same goal in ensuring that we continue to strive towards improving the CUH and Rosie’s Hospitals for our community, whether that is patient experience, specialist equipment, recruiting leading experts in their field and research. Your contribution is vital, and we will be supporting you throughout your journey. All of this comes with the support from the Fundraising Team at ACT, who will help to support and guide you.
