Hansons Services, has partnered with ACT since 2016. It is a family based, dynamic construction company, based in Royston, Hertfordshire, servicing nationwide. Family is the core of their business, with a strong, committed workforce; they are dedicated on their agile approach to their projects in the sector.
Hansons has a special place in its heart for ACT. Employees, friends and family members have been cared for at Addenbrooke’s over the years for everything from treatment for leukaemia and childhood epilepsy, to burns and A&E visits. Several employees have friends and family members that also work at the hospital. They know first hand the difference supporting Addenbrooke’s Hospital makes to patients and staff.
The company organise an annual Golf Day with the 2024 event raising over £32,000, making their year to date total more than £177,000!
As a team Hansons has given funds to allow ACT to purchase a special audio-visual headset that will entertain young patients so that clinicians can then obtain clear MRI pictures. This reduces the number of patients needing a general anaesthetic, allowing clinicians to obtain safer and more accurate images, and importantly make the whole procedure a better experience for children.
Funds have also allowed us to buy a supportive bed for children with complex needs and limited mobility and a portable muscle ultrasound use in by our team caring for children with mobility problems seen in disorders such as cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophies.
