'Pennies for Spenny' as great-grandparents celebrate Diamond Anniversary

In aid of the neonatal intensive care unit

Baby Spencer was born 13 weeks early and was cared for in the neonatal intensive care at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals. To say thank you to the staff at NICU, mother Emelie began her fundraising plea: 'Pennies for Spenny'. Proud great- grandparents Charles and Maureen celebrated their 60th wedding Anniversary and very generously asked for donations to the unit in place of gifts raising £160.00 for the unit.

Michael's Wings for Life World Run

In aid of the Addenbrooke's Breast Cancer Appeal

Thousands of runners came to Cambridge to take part in Wing for Life World Run 2017.Setting off from Parker's Piece in the city centre, the runners were followed by a 'catcher car' driven by Formula 1 ace David Coulthard. Once they were overtaken they were automatically eliminated from the race, with the last runner to be caught crowned the champion. One of the 3,500 runners who took part was Michael Buttress who covered an impressive 20km before he was overtaken and raised £1,040.00 for the Addenbrooke's Breast Cancer Appeal at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals, after two close family members were diagnosed with the disease within the last six months.

Family fun day in aid of brain tumour patients

Lisa Cook held a Fun Day to raise money for Brainbow and Supershoes after her daughter, Ellenor, was diagnosed with a brain tumour last September. The day was packed with fun and included lots of stalls, a raffle, tombola, homemade cakes, a bouncy castle raising over £1400!
