Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust

The NHS is turning 70 this year and what better way to celebrate than with a cup of tea?

On and around 5 July 2018, people up and down the country will get together to raise a cuppa to our beloved NHS and raise funds for NHS charities.

Over the last 70 years the NHS has transformed the health and well-being of the nation, and helping behind the scenes are more than 250 dedicated NHS charities like ACT. Whether supporting research and development, brightening up hospital environments, providing state-of-the-art technologies and equipment or supporting staff, we help the NHS to go the extra mile.

Host your own Big 7Tea party

Please support Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals by hosting your own tea party to raise money. How you plan your Big 7Tea is entirely up to you.

You could invite your friends round for a cuppa, make a brew for your family or colleagues or hold an event in the local village hall. Whatever you want to do we are here to help you with your fundraising. To get started, follow these simple steps to host the perfect party:

  • Choose the items you would like for your tea party
  • Download them
  • Print them off.

You can use the posters to promote your tea party and the bunting to decorate your venue. Get the ball rolling by downloading the materials below:

Spread the word

First, you’ll need to decide where you’re going to host your tea party. It could be your office, your ward in the hospital, a local church, town or village hall, or even your back garden. Make sure you have permission to host your party, then pick a date and time. Once you’ve got your venue and date, start telling your friends, family and colleagues about your Big 7Tea using the posters and other promotional materials. Don’t forget to use your social media pages to help spread the word!

Enjoy the party

On the big day, you can celebrate 70 years of the NHS and raise money for Addenbrooke’s in any way you like. You might choose to collect donations from your guests, charge an entry fee for a raffle or quiz or ask people to make a donation for a slice of cake or cup of tea. You can make your party a quick morning cuppa or a whole day event – it’s up to you!

If you would like some collection tins or buckets to use on the day, please email: hello@act4addenbrookes.org.uk or phone: 01223 217757.

Make your donation

Once the party is over, don’t forget to donate the money you raise to Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. We will make sure all the proceeds from your Big 7Tea go towards supporting your local hospital by enhancing services and facilities, supporting research and development, and improving the environment for staff and patients.

Send in your money by donating online, over the phone by calling 01223 217757 or you can send a cheque made payable to “Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust” to:
