Working for ACT

Grateful Patients Lead

Can you help us do more for patient care at Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie? We’re embarking on a major new strategic programme to boost our charitable income, enabling us to do more to enhance patient care and experience. We’ll do this by creating an environment where awareness of ACT and what we support is clearer for patients and their families. We will work to ensure that hospital staff are confident in referring grateful and consenting patients to ACT, knowing that donors will be well looked after and that we’ll work closely with their department to ensure that charitable income is used for the benefit of patient care and experience.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated self-starter to lead this to success. This role is new and very important to the charity as we look to substantially increase charitable expenditure. The post holder will ensure that patients and their families who would like to make a charitable gift are able to do so, and know how to do so. It will be essential to build strong relationships with hospital and ACT staff at all levels, ultimately increasing the volume of gifts from grateful patients.

If you’d like an informal chat about the role please contact Alex Cavanagh, Head of Business Development, on 01223 596438 (Ext. 6438) or Gemma Downham, Acting Director of Fundraising, on 01223 348820 (Ext. 58820).

The opportunities
ACT's trustees are looking for two suitably experienced and knowledgeable individuals to join their numbers. As well as expertise, they are looking for people who will share their passion for the charity’s mission.

They should hold a full professional qualification with a CCAB body and senior significant post-qualification experience of financial management, gained in any sector.

The second trustee should ideally offer expertise in any area relevant to the charity’s work, and this might include one or more of the following:
