Volunteering overseas

Volunteering overseas is a fantastic opportunity to develop medical, leadership and management skills; as well as sharing your existing skills with others. Staff at CUH are doing some incredible work overseas and bring back new skills and perspectives to their professional practice. We can help you arrange placements and offer additional support to anyone who may have arranged a placement with another body or has organised it all themselves.

By offering a coordinated system of support to staff and students, from those just thinking about volunteering overseas to those already back from a placement, together we can improve the benefits felt by host hospitals, by volunteers and by CUH.

“I wouldn’t swap the volunteer experience for the world...As I head home, I am working on plans to meaningfully share my experience with others.” - Maggs Hamilton, Staff Nurse, Cambridge University Hospitals
