Evaluation of new TomoTherapy machine for the Department of Health
£200,000 is required to undertake an evaluation of the new TomoTherapy machine at Addenbrooke's. TomoTherapy is an innovative form of radiotherapy, revolutionary for its potential to focus radiotherapy to a tumour without damaging any surrounding healthy tissue. The new TomoTherapy machine is the first to be installed in an NHS hospital. Evaluating the technology is likely to influence practice, and therefore to benefit cancer patients, both nationally and internationally over the next decade.

Salary for a Music Therapist, Children's Services
Music Therapists provide a music therapy service for children and their families. In particular, the work of a Music Therapist at Addenbrooke's will focus on children who have to remain in hospital for long periods, for example, children receiving treatment for leukaemia or other cancers. Music therapy aims to support children to communicate and express themselves through music and helps them find different ways of interacting with others, like writing songs or improvising.
Music Therapists helps children to find a way of enjoying music and being able to express themselves despite their disability or illness, and also work with families to help them explore new ways of interacting together.
