LEGACY

Addenbrooke’s Hospital was founded on a legacy of £4,767 left in 1766 by its namesake Dr John Addenbrooke. Legacies continue to play an important role in enhancing patient care at Addenbrooke’s.

How we use your gifts

When you leave a gift in your Will to Addenbrooke’s you want to know it will make a difference to people’s lives in the future. These valued gifts enable us to buy innovative new equipment and fund important research to help find possible cures. They truly help the next generation and cost you nothing in your lifetime.

Research is our cornerstone

Research is one of the most dynamic areas of Addenbrooke’s work. ACT provides two annual research fellowships made possible by donors’ gifts. There is scope for naming a fellowship in memory of a benefactor, which provides an ongoing commitment over a number of years.

“We are very grateful to Maxwell Charnley for leaving a legacy to Addenbrooke’s to implement the Charnley Dermatology Research Fellowship. This research funding will be invaluable to Dermatology to help provide treatments and possibly cures for dermatological conditions for patients at Addenbrooke’s and beyond.”

Dr Paul Norris, Consultant Dermatologist.
