Corporate Forum
Social and corporate responsibility is playing an ever increasing role in the corporate environment. Working hand in hand with ACT will help your company fulfil its commitment to the local community.
The group has been set up for members to network and exchange ideas and information, opening the doors to new business contacts in the region. This first event was designed to stimulate and inspire guests into taking part in a discussion on how ACT can take their corporate relationship forward in the current climate and in view of the huge development which will take place on the Cambridge University Hospitals campus over the next decade.
Corporate Partnering for success
Business in the Community - Highly Commended
Taylor Vinters, members of ACT’s Corporate Forum, was highly commended in the Pro Bono Company of the Year Award at the Business in the Community's annual Awards for Excellence. The awards, which recognise leadership and innovation in responsible business, are hugely prestigious and considered the ultimate accolade by winning companies for their responsibility activities in a corporate environment.
The commendation was presented in front of 380 guests at the East of England Awards Gala Dinner on Tuesday 8 June at Hengrave Hall, Bury St Edmunds.
Accepting the award, Ed Turner, managing partner of Taylor Vinters said, "Our former managing partner Christine Berry continues to lead our firm's involvement with a diverse range of charities, both in fundraising for them and in advising them on legal issues as a partner in our not-for-profit legal team. Our commendation was for the exciting Corporate Partnering approach which we have developed with Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT). This involved us carrying out pro bono work for their Pink Rose Appeal and the Buy Dad a Day Appeal, where we helped ACT assess a concept and fundraising strategy and then provided legal support for the campaigns and the website. The legal input was complemented by our staff embracing fundraising and organising several events for ACT. This commendation recognises the energetic and enthusiastic support of my colleagues and the fundraisers from ACT, particularly Claire Billing, their Corporate Manager."
Claire Billing, Corporate Manager at Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust said, “I am thrilled to have played a part in securing this award for Taylor Vinters. Hopefully it will send out a positive message to all our corporate contacts – there is a real benefit in working with ACT, for your staff and clients. Most importantly I hope that this award shows how grateful we are to Taylor Vinters for all their hard work and ongoing support – thank you”
