Anna Skinner's tandem skydive
22 June 2008

Raising money in memory of Christopher Skinner for a portable CT scanner for Neurosciences.

Christopher Skinner

On 23rd June 2007 my 24 year old son Christopher collapsed on Parker's Piece Cambridge.

He was taken to Addenbrooke's, where a CT scan showed he had suffered a catastrophic brain haemorrhage.

Despite all the best efforts of all the staff in NCCU, he tragically died on 24th June 2007. The only good thing to come from his death was that by donating his kidneys
he was able to give two people the gift of life.

I wanted to do something amazing in his memory, something he would never believe I would do, yet he would be so proud of his mum when I did it. This is why I braved the tandem skydive!

When I read about the fundraising for the portable CT scanner I knew this was the way for me to say thank you to all the staff who tried to save Christopher. With this state of the art equipment, when time is of the essence, more lives can be saved by this dedicated team.
